Apple is preparing a broad lineup of hardware announcements this month, with two separate events expected to cover its smart home ecosystem and core computing products. Marketing chief Greg Joswiak has announced that the company’s product rollout will begin on Tuesday, October 13, with invitations featuring the tagline “Welcome Home.”

Instead of a traditional keynote, the October 13 event will reportedly feature an online video presentation alongside in-person media hands-on sessions in New York City.

The announcements mark an early milestone under newly appointed CEO John Ternus, who took over leadership last month with plans to expand into new markets and grow the company’s services business.

    Expanding Apple's Smart Home Strategy

The October 13 presentation is expected to highlight Apple’s renewed push into the connected home market, where Amazon and Google have traditionally held strong positions.

To compete with these established platforms, Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce its first dedicated smart home hub with a display, alongside an updated HomePod mini and a refreshed Apple TV set-top box. Apple's Siri AI assistant is expected to play a central role in connecting these devices and improving the overall smart home experience.

The company is also looking to expand its ecosystem through partnerships with third-party accessory manufacturers, including LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

Apple’s “Welcome Home” event on October 13 is scheduled to begin at 9 AM ET (6:30 PM IST).

Touchscreen Macs and M6 Processor Upgrades

Following the smart home announcements, Apple is reportedly planning another product launch around Tuesday, October 27, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The event is expected to focus primarily on creative professionals working in video, audio, and photography. It will reportedly follow a presentation-and-press format similar to one the company used in Los Angeles in 2024.

The late-October event is expected to introduce Apple's first touchscreen laptops, alongside processor upgrades and other hardware changes.

    • Touchscreen MacBook Pro (codenames K114 and K116): The redesigned laptops are expected to feature OLED displays, slimmer and lighter designs, and the Dynamic Island interface previously introduced on the iPhone lineup.
    • M6-powered MacBook Pro and iMac (codenames J804 and J833): Apple's 14-inch MacBook Pro and desktop iMac are expected to receive next-generation M6-series processors while retaining their existing external designs.
    • Redesigned iPad mini (codename J510): The compact tablet is reportedly set to transition to an OLED display, adopt a landscape-oriented front-facing camera for video calls, and feature a redesigned internal speaker system.

These October announcements are expected to represent the first phase of Apple's broader hardware roadmap, with additional Mac and iPad updates reportedly planned for the first half of next year.
