Apple iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max launched; India price starts from Rs. 1,34,900 with 6.3/6.9-inch display, A19 Pro, Triple 48MP cameras
Apple has launched its latest flagship phones, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the successors to last year’s iPhone 16 Pro models, alongside the iPhone 17 AIR. Both Pro models feature a Titanium design, the powerful A19 Pro chip, and ProMotion displays — measuring 6.3 inches on the Pro and 6.9 inches on the Pro Max — with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz and peak brightness of 3000 nits.
Apple A19 Pro -
Built on a 3nm process, the new Apple A19 Pro is touted as the fastest CPU in any smartphone. It includes a 6-core CPU and a 6-core GPU with Neural Accelerators integrated into each core, a larger cache, and increased memory compared to the A18 Pro.
The iPhone 17 Pro lineup also features the new N1 wireless networking chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, enhancing reliability and performance for features like AirDrop and Personal Hotspot. Apple will offer eSIM-only models of the iPhone 17 series in Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the U.S., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
New Cameras -
For the first time, the iPhone 17 Pro series introduces a triple 48MP rear camera system, comprising:
- 48MP Fusion Main Camera
- 48MP Ultra-Wide Camera
- 48MP Telephoto Camera with a next-generation tetraprism design and a sensor 56% larger than the previous generation.
The Telephoto lens supports 4x optical zoom at 100mm, ideal for portraits, and a groundbreaking 8x optical zoom at 200mm, the longest ever on iPhone. Digital zoom extends up to 40x for photos. On the front, a new 18MP Center Stage camera debuts, featuring the first square sensor on iPhone, delivering a wider field of view and higher resolution.
Design and Performance -
The Pro series sports a brushed aluminum unibody design crafted from aerospace-grade 7000-series aluminum alloy. A redesigned plateau at the back allows for a larger battery, while antennas integrated around the frame deliver the most advanced antenna system ever on iPhone.
A new Apple-designed vapor chamber enhances cooling. Using deionized water sealed and laser-welded into the chassis, heat is efficiently transferred from the A19 Pro into the unibody, ensuring peak performance while keeping the phone comfortable to hold.
Both models come with Ceramic Shield 2, offering 3x better scratch resistance and improved anti-reflection to minimize glare. With the new SoC and ProMotion, battery life now reaches up to 31 hours on the iPhone 17 Pro and 37 hours on the Pro Max, adding up to four extra hours compared to the previous generation. Fast charging delivers 50% charge in just 20 minutes with a 40W USB-C adapter or higher.

Pricing and Availability -
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be available in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue finishes, with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB—dropping the 128GB variant. For the first time, the Pro Max also offers a 2TB model.
Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro lineup, prices have gone up by Rs. 5,000 across all variants.
