Google Pixel 10 Appeared on Geekbench listing revealing Google Tensor G5 with new PowerVR GPU
Google's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Google Pixel 10, which will launch next year, has appeared in benchmark tests, showcasing the new Tensor G5 SoC, codenamed ‘Google Frankel.’ The revealed Geekbench scores, however, show that its performance is less impressive compared to the Tensor G4.
CPU -
The benchmark reveals 1 x Cortex X4 Prime Core clocked at 3.4GHz, 5 x Cortex-A725 performance cores at 2.86GHz, and 2 x power-efficient cores running at 2.44GHz. It also shows 12GB of RAM, likely for the Pixel 10, with Pro models expected to feature 16GB of RAM.
It additionally shows Android 15, but the final release will likely ship with Android 16, as Google has confirmed Android 16’s launch for Q2 2025, while the Pixel 10 series is anticipated for a Q3 2025 release.
The single-core score of 1323 and multi-core score of 4004 fall short of the Tensor G4's performance. However, these scores may reflect an early prototype and final performance could improve.
GPU -
The benchmark also lists a PowerVR two-core IMG DXT-48-1536 GPU clocked at 1.1GHz. While rumours suggest this GPU will be more powerful than the Adreno 830 in the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Android Authority reports it will still trail behind the top GPUs by about two years.
Despite this, the new GPU is expected to bring improved Ray-tracing, feature a new architecture for GPU-bound tasks, and introduce GPU virtualization—features currently absent in the existing Tensor chips.
Previous reports indicated that the Tensor G5 will be built using TSMC’s 3nm process, marking Google’s first chip manufactured without Samsung.
