HONOR Magic8 Pro Air launched with 6.31-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO OLED display, 6.1mm sleek design, Dimensity 9500 SoC
HONOR has launched its latest slim smartphone in the Magic8 series, the HONOR Magic8 Pro Air in China, as previously announced. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, positioned as the lightest flagship smartphone, the Magic8 Pro Air weighs just 155g and measures only 6.1mm in thickness.
It features a 6.31-inch OLED display with ultra-slim 1.08mm bezels on all four sides, offering up to 6000 nits of HDR peak brightness. The display also includes 10 HONOR Oasis eye protection technologies and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The device uses the same 7-coat, 7-baking light-sensing overlay coating process found in luxury automobiles, giving it a refined metallic satin finish. It is available in four colour options: Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White, and Shadow Black. The smartphone is built around a unibody aerospace-grade aluminium frame rated at 530MPa for strength. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and supports eSIM with seamless switching between physical SIM and eSIM.
For photography, the Magic8 Pro Air is equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring a 1/1.3-inch ultra-large sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and CIPA 5.0 image stabilisation. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and up to a 112° field of view, along with a 64MP periscope telephoto camera using a 1/2-inch sensor, offering 3.2x optical zoom, up to 100x digital zoom, an f/2.6 aperture, and CIPA 5.0 stabilisation.
The phone also debuts Android’s first AI zoom array flash, featuring a five-array structure that covers the full portrait focal range from 1x to 6.4x. Additionally, it is the industry’s first smartphone to introduce a CCD strobe portrait mode and deliver one of the most comprehensive AI flash systems available.
Despite its ultra-slim profile, the Magic8 Pro Air packs a 5,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with an impressive energy density of 917Wh/L. It supports 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
