HUAWEI MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN launched with 18-inch 3.3K foldable LTPO OLED screen, up to 2TB SSD, HarmonyOS 5
HUAWEI has officially launched its latest foldable laptop, the HUAWEI MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN in China with an OLED display, and has become the company’s first laptop running HarmonyOS 5, as they promised. This is the world’s largest commercial foldable-screen PC, featuring a dual-layer OLED flexible display that expands to 18 inches and folds down to a compact 13 inches. Despite its size, it remains sleek and lightweight, measuring just 7.3mm at its thinnest point and weighing only 1.16 kg.
The display itself is a standout, featuring the world’s largest double-layer OLED screen in a laptop, along with the first commercial application of LTPO technology in the category. This innovation boosts overall energy efficiency by 30%. The screen delivers a crisp 3.3K resolution, peak HDR brightness of 1600 nits, a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a 92% screen-to-body ratio, and adaptive refresh rate support.
HUAWEI’s new foldable is engineered with the industry’s largest basalt waterdrop hinge, featuring a three-stage mortise and tenon design for enhanced durability and stability. The hinge uses an ultra-precise integrated load-bearing shaft made from high-density zirconium-based liquid metal, enabling a seamless and gapless fold with a smooth waterdrop profile and precise multi-link mechanics.
For cooling, it includes ultra-thin diamond aluminum dual fans—each just 3.5mm thick—delivering a 28W performance output. The laptop also incorporates innovative antigravity VC technology and a gravity pump system, ensuring stable performance across various use modes.
Running on HarmonyOS 5, the MateBook Fold seamlessly integrates with HUAWEI's broader ecosystem—connecting with phones, tablets, smartwatches, TVs, and headphones. It supports over 150 HarmonyOS-exclusive PC applications, more than 1,000 integrated ecosystem apps, and has optimized performance across over 2,000 applications.
