iQOO Z9 5G to be launched in India on March 12 with Dimensity 7200 SoC, Sony IMX882 sensor
Update - iQOO has officially announced the release date for the iQOO Z9 5G smartphone in the country, set for March 12th.
iQOO has commenced teasing the iQOO Z9 5G, marking the company’s forthcoming addition to the Z series lineup in India, succeeding last year’s iQOO Z7. The teaser showcases dual rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for the primary camera and distinctive patterns adorning the back of the green-hued phone.
iQOO has verified that this will be the pioneer phone in its segment to integrate the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, and it has revealed that the phone achieved a remarkable score of 734,000 points on the AnTuTu 10 benchmark. This represents a substantial enhancement over the Dimensity 920 featured in the iQOO Z7.
Furthermore, the company has confirmed the inclusion of the Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS for the phone, a notable progression from the 64MP camera present in the Z7. Even the Z7 Pro boasted a 64MP sensor, making this yet another upgrade. The IMX882 sensor mirrors the one utilized in the recently launched realme 12 Pro. The phone also offers a 120Hz OLED screen and 44W fast charging capabilities.
The device made an appearance on the Geekbench listing under model number I2302, revealing the presence of the 7200 SoC, Android 14, and 8GB of RAM. Earlier speculations suggest a 1.5K OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery.
The phone will be retailed on Amazon India and iQOO.com. More details regarding the phone, including its launch date, are anticipated to be disclosed in the forthcoming days.
