Motorola edge 70 plus launched Globally with 6.78-inch 1.5K 144Hz curved OLED display, 200MP camera, 6500mAh battery

Motorola has announced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Motorola Edge 70 Plus at IFA 2026. It combines a high-resolution camera system with a large battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and enhanced durability.
Design and Build
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus features a quad-curved design on both the front and rear, giving the phone a smooth profile with minimal sharp edges. It is built to meet military-grade durability standards and is designed to withstand challenging conditions, including high altitudes, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
Corning Gorilla Glass 7i provides protection against drops and scratches, while the device also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Motorola has partnered with the Pantone Color Institute to offer the smartphone in four finishes:
- PANTONE Mountain View: Deep green with a silk-textured finish
- PANTONE Gray Lilac: Mauve-grey with an acetate finish
- PANTONE Milky Blue: Soft blue with a vegan leather finish
- PANTONE Sage: Muted green with a vegan leather finish
Camera and AI Features
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus is equipped with a 200MP primary rear camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera system supports 10x Super Zoom, 4K video recording, and Pantone Validated skin tone reproduction. The main camera is accompanied by a dedicated 2MP macro camera for close-up photography.

The front of the smartphone houses a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It can automatically expand the field of view when the phone is rotated into landscape orientation and supports 4K video recording with Adaptive Stabilization.
Motorola also uses an automated Photo Enhancement Engine to improve image quality by optimizing dynamic range, textures, and other image details without requiring manual adjustments.
Display and Audio
The smartphone features a 6.78-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display with a quad-curved design.
- 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED quad-curved display
- 2772 × 1272 pixel resolution

Performance, Storage, and Battery
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 mobile platform, built on a 4nm process and paired with an Adreno 720 GPU. The chipset is supported by an integrated vapor chamber cooling system for improved thermal management during demanding workloads.
The smartphone comes with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 1TB using a microSD card.
The device packs a 6500mAh battery with support for 45W TurboPower fast charging. It also supports bypass charging, allowing power to be supplied directly to the processor during intensive usage. This helps reduce heat generation and can minimize battery wear during prolonged gaming or other heavy workloads.
Software and AI
The smartphone runs Android 16 and includes Google's AI-powered features. These include Gemini Live for real-time conversational assistance and Circle to Search, which enables users to perform contextual searches directly from content displayed on the screen.
