Motorola has officially announced Global Connect, a new travel connectivity application designed to simplify international mobile data access through eSIM technology.

    A Dedicated Travel Connectivity Platform

Created in collaboration with Gigs, a leading embedded connectivity provider, Global Connect is available as a dedicated travel app in select markets. The application also comes pre-installed on millions of compatible Motorola smartphones, allowing eligible users to access the service without requiring a separate installation.

Powered by eSIM technology, Global Connect enables users to stay connected while traveling internationally without replacing or reinstalling digital SIM profiles. A single eSIM automatically works across supported destinations, eliminating the need to swap physical SIM cards or configure multiple eSIMs when crossing borders.

    Data Plans and Global Coverage

To help users get started, Motorola is providing 1GB of complimentary mobile data to eligible customers. According to the company, this allowance is sufficient for approximately one hour of video streaming or more than 10 hours of web browsing and can be used across over 160 countries.

After the complimentary data has been used, users can purchase additional data packs directly through the Global Connect application by following these steps:

    • Select the travel destination.
    • Choose a preferred data plan.
    • Complete the purchase.
    • Activate the eSIM and begin using mobile data.

Motorola says the platform connects users to hundreds of partner mobile networks worldwide, automatically utilizing the strongest available signal for reliable high-speed connectivity. The company also states that the service offers transparent pricing with no hidden charges.

    Availability

The introduction of Global Connect arrives ahead of the busy summer travel season and major international football tournaments, offering travelers an alternative to public Wi-Fi while commuting, sightseeing, or streaming matches on the move.

The Global Connect app is now available through the Google Play Store in the following launch markets:

    • Brazil
    • Mexico
    • Argentina
    • Peru
    • Chile

motorola has also confirmed that the application will expand to select European countries later this year.

    Note

Global Connect requires a compatible Motorola smartphone with eSIM support to use the service.
