OPPO and Hasselblad Extend Partnership to Develop Next-Gen Mobile Imaging Technology

    OPPO has officially announced the extension of its strategic alliance with renowned camera maker Hasselblad. The announcement was made during an event in Gothenburg, Sweden, marking the continuation of a four-year collaboration focused on OPPO’s premium Find Series smartphones.

    Next-Generation Mobile Imaging in the Works -

    The two companies are now jointly developing a new-generation mobile imaging system, with the goal of setting new standards for smartphone photography.

    Four Years of Technical Co-Development -

    Since the partnership began, OPPO and Hasselblad have engaged in deep technical collaboration, particularly in the development of each iteration of the Find series. This joint effort has led to several signature imaging features designed to bring Hasselblad’s photographic expertise into the mobile space.

    Among the standout innovations are:

    • A mobile-optimized Hasselblad Natural Color Solution
    • Hasselblad Portrait Mode with lens-like bokeh effects
    • A professional-grade Master Mode that mirrors the color science of the Hasselblad X2D
    • The creative XPAN Mode replicates the 65:24 aspect ratio of the classic film camera

    OPPO’s Imaging Legacy -

    During the event, OPPO showcased its 17-year journey in mobile imaging innovation. Milestones included:

    • The industry’s first stacked CMOS sensor with the OPPO Find 5 in 2012
    • Introduction of pixel binning with the OPPO R9 in 2016
    • The debut of a periscope telephoto lens in 2017

    Beginning with the Find X6 Pro, OPPO has sharpened its focus on combining hardware and software enhancements to elevate the mobile photography experience.

    The most recent flagship, the Find X8 Ultra, features a cutting-edge Penta Camera System, including a True Chroma Camera and an AI Bokeh Engine for natural-looking portrait effects. It also debuts an upgraded Master Mode, capable of capturing ultra-clear 50MP JPEG Max and 16-bit 50MP RAW Max files—aimed at delivering uncompromised image quality.
