OPPO has officially confirmed the launch of its latest smartphones, the OPPO Reno16 Series on July 2 in India, following a series of teasers. Designed as an AI-powered camera-centric smartphone lineup for younger consumers, the Reno16 Series focuses on creating a seamless ecosystem for capturing, editing, and sharing content.

Powered by ColorOS 16, the new smartphones combine upgraded imaging hardware with OPPO’s proprietary AI technologies to simplify photography, videography, and content creation workflows.

Advanced Camera Hardware

The Reno16 Series features a versatile triple-camera system engineered to perform across a wide range of shooting scenarios, from expansive landscapes to detailed portraits and low-light environments.

Ultra-Clear AI Imaging System

While each model offers its own hardware configuration, OPPO maintains a strong focus on high-resolution imaging throughout the lineup.

• OPPO Reno16: Equipped with a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera with a 100-degree field of view. A Dual Flash System enhances low-light photography performance.
• OPPO Reno16c: Features a similar high-resolution camera setup comprising a 50MP Main Camera, an Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera, complemented by the Dual Flash System.

A key highlight of the Reno16 Series is its 50MP 3.5× Telephoto Portrait Camera. Offering an 85mm-equivalent focal length, the lens uses optical zoom technology to produce sharp and natural-looking portraits without distortion. The camera is optimized for a realistic perspective, improved subject separation, and attractive background compression that enhances facial details while maintaining image quality.

The Reno16 Series introduces Natural Tone Imaging, a new image-processing framework built around three core pillars: Crystal Clear Image, True Colour, and Vivid Light.

The system utilizes an upgraded multi-skin-tone algorithm designed to preserve accurate skin tones across diverse complexions. Rather than applying a uniform filter effect, it maintains natural color accuracy while retaining localized lighting and shadow details.

4K 60fps HDR Video Recording

All primary camera sensors, including the ultra-wide, main, and telephoto lenses, support 4K HDR video recording at 60fps.

To further assist mobile creators, OPPO has included several advanced video features:

• 4K Auto Straighten: Automatically corrects camera tilt and stabilizes handheld footage in real time.
• Zoom Free Video: Reduces noticeable exposure and image-quality transitions when switching between focal lengths during recording.

• Pop Cam: Making its debut on the Reno series, Pop Cam offers nine visual presets including Basic, Digicam, Instant Film, Light Leak, Warm, Rich, Fresh, Retro, and Airy.
• Popout 2.0: Features enhanced animations that allow subjects to appear beyond the frame. The updated detection engine can recognize people, pets, landmarks, and various everyday objects.
• Dual-View Video 2.0: Enables simultaneous recording using the front and rear cameras with customizable layouts and dynamic focal-length adjustments during recording.

OPPO Bubble Smart Camera Companion

Alongside the Reno16 Series, OPPO has introduced the OPPO Bubble, a lightweight magnetic accessory weighing just 27.5 grams. Designed as a smart camera companion, it enhances the photography experience with real-time monitoring and remote shooting capabilities.

The OPPO Bubble functions as both a live-view monitor for rear-camera selfies and a wireless shutter remote, enabling hands-free photography and video capture.
