Google is gearing up to unveil its latest addition to the Pixel 8 series, the Pixel 8a smartphone, later this month. Pre-launch leaks have provided insights into key features of the Pixel 8a, such as its Tensor G3 chip, 120Hz display, promised seven years of updates, and pricing details.
Recently, @evleaks, also known as Evan Blass, shared comprehensive product screenshots, offering further details on the Pixel 8a. These images confirm the utilization of Gorilla Glass 3 for screen protection, akin to the Pixel 7a. Google asserts that the Pixel 8a marks its most resilient A-Series debut yet, affirming IP67 water resistance, mirroring the 7a.
The screenshots showcase the Pixel 8a's vibrant color options and matte texture, consistent with leaked images showcasing a matte finish on the black model, hinting at similar finishes for blue and green variants. While the color scheme of the white model remains uncertain, renders suggest a uniform matte finish across all variants, following the precedent set by the Pixel 8 Pro.
The screenshots suggest the possibility of incorporating recycled materials in the construction of the Pixel 8a, potentially in the back or frame, reminiscent of the Pixel 7a's use of recycled aluminum. Moreover, there's a promotional offer of six months of Fitbit Premium with the Pixel 8a. Additional features include wireless charging, up to 24 hours of battery life, and compatibility with 30W charging, albeit the 30W USB-C charger not being included with the phone.
