POCO M8 Power 5G launched in India starting at Rs. 24,999 with 6.99-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC, 8000mAh battery
POCO has launched its latest smartphone in the M8 lineup, the new POCO M8 Power 5G in India. The device combines a large OLED display, Snapdragon processor, massive battery, AI-powered cameras, and long-term software support, targeting users looking for extended battery life and reliable everyday performance.
Display and Design
The POCO M8 Power 5G is the brand's first smartphone to feature a 6.99-inch ultra-large OLED display. It offers a 2396 × 1080 pixel Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 wide color gamut support for vivid visuals. The panel also delivers a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a 240Hz touch sampling rate for responsive interactions, and an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking.
The smartphone is available in Black, Blaze Orange, and Green color options.
Performance and Battery
Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 mobile platform, built on an efficient 4nm process. The chipset is paired with a large 10,416 sq. mm graphite cooling system to maintain stable performance during prolonged usage. According to POCO, the processor achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 630,000.
The standout feature is the massive 8,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, managed by Xiaomi's Surge G1 Battery Management Chip for improved efficiency and battery longevity.
POCO claims the battery can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge. Official battery estimates include:
- Up to 42 hours of continuous video playback
- Up to 68 hours of social media usage
- Up to 18 hours of gaming
- Up to 16 hours of navigation
The phone supports 45W wired fast charging with the charger included in the box. It also offers 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories and other devices.
Software
The POCO M8 Power 5G runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 out of the box. POCO has committed to providing four generations of Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates for long-term software support.
Camera and AI Features
For photography, the smartphone features a 50MP AI-powered primary rear camera with intelligent scene detection that automatically optimizes camera settings based on the shooting environment. An 8MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
The camera system also includes AI photography features designed to improve portrait shots, low-light photography, and overall color reproduction.
Build and Durability
Despite housing a large 8,000mAh battery, the POCO M8 Power 5G maintains a slim profile with a metallic-finish middle frame and a premium matte rear panel. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while the device carries an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance.
