Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 mobile platforms launched with Improved performance and Battery life

Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platforms during the Snapdragon for India event, expanding its mid-range chipset lineup with upgraded performance, smoother user experiences, and enhanced power efficiency.
The new platforms are designed to improve the features users interact with most frequently, including app responsiveness, gaming, connectivity, and battery life, while strengthening Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile portfolio across different price segments.
Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI -
Both the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 feature the new Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI technology, aimed at delivering fluid animations, responsive navigation, and reduced lag during everyday use.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 platform offers up to 20% faster app launch speeds and reduces screen stutter by 18%, helping deliver a smoother and more immersive experience.
Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 focuses on efficient everyday performance with up to 43% faster app launches and 25% less screen stutter, allowing users to switch between apps more seamlessly throughout the day.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform -
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform is targeted at users looking for more advanced smartphone capabilities. It introduces AI-powered camera enhancements designed to improve photo and video quality with sharper details and more natural output.
For gaming, the chipset includes the first-in-series Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0, which is engineered to maintain stable frame rates while improving power efficiency during extended gameplay sessions.
Qualcomm says the platform also delivers a 21% improvement in GPU performance, enabling smoother graphics, richer visuals, and better overall responsiveness for gaming and daily tasks.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 additionally supports long battery life, dependable 5G connectivity, and advanced Wi-Fi 7 networking capabilities for faster and more stable wireless performance.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform is designed to deliver reliable everyday performance along with seamless connectivity for daily tasks and entertainment.
Qualcomm says the chipset offers significantly enhanced multimedia capabilities with up to 77% better GPU performance compared to its predecessor, enabling smoother visuals and improved graphics handling.
For gaming, the platform introduces support for 90FPS gameplay to the Snapdragon 4-series for the first time, offering more fluid motion and responsive gameplay experiences.
The chipset also debuts Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) support with 5G + 5G/4G connectivity within the Snapdragon 4 lineup. This enables users to keep two SIM connections active simultaneously across different networks without affecting performance or connectivity reliability.

Qualcomm confirmed that smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will soon be launched by several global smartphone brands, including Honor and REDMI. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 platform is set to debut in upcoming devices from OPPO, realme, and REDMI.
