Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus 3nm SoC launched with Oryon CPU and 80 TOPS AI for Copilot+ PCs

Snapdragon X2 Plus launch CES 2026.

Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon X2 Plus platform, the latest addition to the Snapdragon X Series and the successor to the Snapdragon X Plus at CES 2026. Designed for Windows 11 Copilot+ PCs, the new platform targets modern professionals and creators who demand a balance of high performance and portability.

    Architecture and Performance -

The Snapdragon X2 Plus is built on a 64-bit architecture and features Qualcomm’s third-generation Oryon CPU. It will be available in two configurations: a 10-core variant (X2P-64-100) and a 6-core variant (X2P-42-100).

Both versions support a maximum multi-core frequency of up to 4.0GHz, delivering up to 35% faster single-core CPU performance while consuming 43% less power compared to the previous generation.

Graphics duties are handled by the Qualcomm Adreno GPU, which is designed to provide immersive visual experiences. GPU performance differs between the two models, with the 10-core variant clocked at 1.7GHz and the 6-core version at 0.9GHz. The platform supports LPDDR5X memory with speeds of up to 9,523 MT/s and capacities of up to 128GB.

    AI Capabilities -

A key highlight of the Snapdragon X2 Plus is its strong focus on artificial intelligence. The platform integrates the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, delivering up to 80 TOPS of AI performance. This NPU is built to support next-generation agentic AI experiences and seamless multitasking. According to Qualcomm, the platform enables more than 50 on-device AI experiences, accelerating workflows such as photo and video editing and multimodal content creation.

    Connectivity and Battery Life -

The Snapdragon X2 Plus features the Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF System along with the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 System, offering support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. These connectivity solutions enable high-speed access and high-band simultaneous operation.

In terms of efficiency, the platform is designed to deliver multi-day battery life. Intelligent power management dynamically allocates power to maintain consistent responsiveness, ensuring performance remains steady even when the device is running on battery.

    Security Features -

Security is handled through a combination of hardware and cloud-based technologies. The platform incorporates the Qualcomm SPU with Microsoft Pluton to provide end-to-end, chip-to-cloud protection. In addition, optional Snapdragon Guardian Technology offers enterprise-grade security features such as automatic presence detection and biometric authentication, along with support for out-of-band (OOB) remote management for maintenance and security updates.
