Realme 16 Pro 5G and 16 Pro+ 5G launched in India Starting From Rs. 31,999 with 6.8-inch 1.5K 144Hz OLED display, Dimensity 7300/Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC
Realme has launched its newest mid-range smartphone in the realme 16 Pro Series, the Realme 16 Pro+, and the Realme 16 Pro in India, as promised. Both places a strong focus on portrait photography, a fresh “Urban Wild” design language, and major upgrades to battery capacity.
Camera systems and imaging -
Both smartphones in the lineup put a heavy emphasis on portrait photography, featuring a 200MP LumaColor camera as the primary sensor.
- realme 16 Pro+ - This model is equipped with a 3.5× periscope telephoto lens and supports a wide range of zoom options, including 7× close-up shots and up to 120× digital zoom. It also supports 4K Full-Focal HDR video recording.
- realme 16 Pro - While it shares the same 200MP main sensor, it uses a “Golden Portrait Lens Kit” for focal length switching instead of the periscope telephoto lens found on the Pro+.
Software integration -
Both devices run advanced imaging software designed with social media content creation in mind:
- Vibe Master Mode - Offers 21 custom tones and five signature portrait styles.
- AI Edit Genie - Lets users edit photos using voice or text commands, including changing backgrounds while keeping facial details consistent.
- AI LightMe & StyleMe - Delivers studio-grade lighting effects and stylized filters.
Design and durability -
The series debuts the “Urban Wild Design” concept, created in collaboration with renowned designer Naoto Fukasawa.
- Materials - The realme 16 Pro+ features a bio-based organic silicone back with a wheat-grain texture, while the standard Pro model comes with a velvet matte finish.
- Durability - Both phones carry an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, allowing them to withstand high-pressure water jets and elevated temperatures. The realme 16 Pro+ display is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
Performance and Hardware -
In terms of performance and hardware, the two models differ notably in both processing power and display technology. The realme 16 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which delivers an AnTuTu score of around 1.44 million, and is paired with high-speed Rocket LPDDR5X RAM offering speeds of up to 8400Mbps. It features a 6.8-inch 1.5K HyperGlow 4D Curve+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of up to 6500 nits.
The realme 16 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max 5G processor, achieving an AnTuTu score of roughly 970,000. It comes with a slightly smaller 6.78-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display, also supporting a 144Hz refresh rate, but without the curved panel design found on the Pro+ model.
Shared Hardware and Software Features -
Both smartphones are powered by a massive 7000mAh Titan Battery and use an AirFlow VC cooling system to ensure efficient thermal management. They run realme UI 7.0, which introduces a suite of AI-driven features under the “NEXT AI” branding, including AI Translation, an AI Gaming Coach, and integration with Google Gemini Live.
