Realme GT 8 Pro teased with world’s first switchable camera bump design ahead of India launch

Realme India has begun teasing the design innovation of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 8 Pro, which introduces the industry’s first switchable camera bump, a concept that brings a new level of personalization to smartphones and challenges the trend of design uniformity in the flagship segment.
Redefining Personalized Flagship Design -
The highlight of the GT 8 Pro is the Switchable Smartphone Camera Bump, a first-of-its-kind feature that replaces the conventional fixed camera module. This modular design allows users to unscrew and replace the camera bump with different styles — including round, square, and robot-inspired designs — creating a unique, personal look for each device.

realme says the feature reflects its philosophy of breaking away from the “one-size-fits-all” design approach, turning a smartphone into an expression of individuality rather than a standard product. The Color-Mix concept further enhances personalization, with robot-themed modules incorporating subtle color contrasts for added flair.
Design and Material Innovation -
The GT 8 Pro will be offered in Diary White and Urban Blue color variants. The design combines elegance and comfort, featuring a streamlined curve transition based on the golden ratio, dual 2.5D edges for a seamless grip, a matte metal frame, and a flat, round display for balanced aesthetics and usability.
Sustainable Craftsmanship and Premium Feel -
Sustainability is central to the GT 8 Pro’s design approach. The Urban Blue variant features a Paper-like Leather back made from recycled plastics and textiles, offering a unique grain pattern and 3D texture while remaining lightweight and durable.

The brand also uses natural organic dyes and a spray-applied silicone coating to minimize environmental impact. With Photonic Nano-Carving technology achieving 0.02mm precision engraving, the GT 8 Pro blends artistry with eco-conscious manufacturing. The material design is Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified, highlighting realme’s commitment to sustainable flagship design.
realme has already showcased the GT 8 Pro’s global specifications, confirming no changes to its battery or water resistance features. More details, including its India launch date, are expected in the coming weeks.
