REDMI K90 Max with Advanced Air Cooling, and REDMI K Pad 2 with Dimensity 9500 SoC Launching Later This Month
Xiaomi has begun teasing the upcoming launch of the REDMI K90 Max smartphone and the REDMI K Pad 2 tablet in China, with an official debut expected later this month.
REDMI K90 Max -
The REDMI K90 Max follows last year’s REDMI K90 and K90 Pro Max models. Teaser images reveal the device in a Space Silver finish, which the company describes as reflecting a futuristic, technology-inspired aesthetic.
The smartphone features an aluminium alloy frame, ultra-slim bezels, and a minimalist grille design. A key highlight is its newly engineered air-cooling system, equipped with a redesigned internal fan and optimized airflow structure. Xiaomi claims this setup delivers a significant improvement in cooling performance, positioning it among the most advanced thermal solutions in the industry.
The K90 Max integrates a large cooling fan with a diameter approximately 6% bigger than conventional solutions. Its upright air intake and forward-tilted blades enhance airflow efficiency, reaching speeds of 0.42 CFM per minute — around 1.3 times higher than competing devices. The airflow system uses simulated vortex dynamics to minimize turbulence, while precision guide fins channel air directly toward the chipset, achieving up to 78% airflow utilization for faster heat dissipation and improved gaming performance.
Despite the inclusion of an active cooling fan, operational noise levels remain as low as 32dB at full speed. The device also offers three adjustable fan modes to suit different usage scenarios. According to the company, the cooling system can reduce temperatures by up to 10°C within 100 seconds. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the phone will feature a 165Hz high refresh rate display.
In addition to advanced cooling, the device is rated IP66, IP68, and IP69 for dust and water resistance. It is said to offer a 50,000-hour durability rating and comes with a six-year warranty backed by a metal bearing system aging test. Xiaomi also promises lifetime cleaning and maintenance support.
REDMI K Pad 2 -
Alongside the smartphone, Xiaomi is preparing to launch the REDMI K Pad 2, a next-generation flagship performance tablet powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, aimed at delivering smooth and responsive gaming performance.
The tablet features an 8.8-inch display designed for comfortable one-handed use. It supports a 165Hz high refresh rate e-sports screen with improvements in brightness, touch responsiveness, and eye protection technology to enhance the gaming experience.
The REDMI K Pad 2 will be available in gold, black, and a new electric purple color option. It adopts a unibody metal design with a sleek, flat rear panel and a refined Deco camera module. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the tablet is expected to pack a large 9,100mAh battery.
More details, including the official launch date, are expected to be announced in the coming days.
