REDMI K90 Max to be launched on April 21st with 6.83-inch FHD+ 165Hz display, sound by Bose, Air Cooling

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the REDMI K90 Max will launch in China on April 21, after a teaser. The company has revealed that the smartphone will sport a 6.83-inch gaming-focused display with a 165Hz refresh rate and an ultra-high peak brightness of 3500 nits. It is among the first devices to support 165FPS+ HD graphics and offers native 165fps support for over 40 games, enhancing the overall gaming ecosystem and experience.

The display also features a 480Hz multi-finger touch reporting rate for improved responsiveness, along with a 3500Hz instantaneous sampling rate for ultra-fast input recognition. Xiaomi noted that the panel has undergone extensive professional testing, delivering millions of continuous touch interactions.
Additionally, the K90 Max intelligently identifies game genres. For FPS titles, it enables millisecond-level response times to give players a competitive edge, while for MOBA games, it ensures greater stability and precise controls, supporting seamless multi-finger operations.
The company is also focusing on its gaming-centric audio features. It highlights sound tuning by Bose and claims a 200% increase in footstep sound volume for improved in-game awareness. The phone is equipped with a symmetrical dual stereo speaker setup designed to deliver immersive audio during gameplay, especially in landscape mode.

Teaser images showcase the device in a Space Silver finish, reflecting a futuristic and tech-inspired aesthetic. The phone is built with an aluminium alloy frame, complemented by ultra-narrow bezels and a clean, minimalist grille design.
It also introduces a new air-cooling system featuring a redesigned internal structure, including an upgraded fan and airflow mechanism. This results in significantly improved airflow and cooling efficiency, positioning it among the most advanced thermal systems in the industry.
Active Cooling System -
The REDMI K90 Max incorporates a large cooling fan that is approximately 6% bigger than standard solutions. Its vertical air intake design and forward-tilted blades enhance airflow, reaching speeds of up to 0.42 CFM—around 1.3 times higher than competing devices.

The system uses simulated vortex airflow to minimize turbulence, while internal guide fins optimize airflow direction. This allows up to 78% airflow coverage over key heat-generating components, ensuring faster heat dissipation and sustained performance during gaming sessions.
Despite the larger fan, noise levels are kept as low as 32dB even at maximum speed. The device also offers three adjustable fan modes to suit different usage scenarios. Xiaomi claims the active cooling system can reduce temperatures by up to 10°C within just 100 seconds.
Notably, even with an active cooling mechanism, the phone maintains IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It is rated for up to 50,000 hours of durability and comes with a 6-year warranty supported by a metal bearing system aging test. Xiaomi also promises lifetime cleaning and maintenance services.
