Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus May Return, along with Edge, Pro, and Ultra Models: Report

samsung galaxy s26 plus launch rumors leak.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series was initially expected to debut with a new three-model lineup, replacing the Galaxy S26+ with a slimmer “Edge” variant. However, latest reports suggest the company has reversed course and restarted development of the Galaxy S26+.

Galaxy S26+ Back in Development -

According to The Elec, Samsung has resumed work on the Galaxy S26+, internally codenamed M Plus, following disappointing sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. If finalized, the S26+ will return alongside the Galaxy S26 Pro (M1), Galaxy S26 Edge (M2), and Galaxy S26 Ultra (M3), expanding the lineup to four models instead of the originally planned three.

Sales Performance Behind the Decision -

The Galaxy S25 Edge, introduced earlier this year, saw declining production and sluggish demand, with only about 300,000 units planned between September and December.

In contrast, the Galaxy S25+ set a target of 500,000 units over the same period, showing stronger momentum. Reviving the Plus model seems to be Samsung’s strategy to balance revenues, as the Edge’s lackluster performance risks dragging down overall sales despite its slightly higher pricing.

What to Expect from the Galaxy S26 Series -

Samsung’s initial plan included just the Pro, Edge, and Ultra models. With the reintroduction of M Plus, the S26 lineup could expand to four variants. Reports indicate that OLED panel development for all four versions is already in progress.

The Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in early January 2026, leaving time for more details to emerge in the coming months.
