Samsung W27 launched with 8-inch foldable and 6.5-inch outer 120Hz LTPO AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC
Samsung has launched its latest premium foldable smartphone, the Samsung W27, developed in collaboration with China Telecom as part of its “Heart to the World” series. Built on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra platform, the new model brings dedicated satellite communication capabilities alongside high-end hardware and exclusive design elements.
Design and Build
Targeted at the luxury and business segments, the Samsung W27 features a distinctive dual-tone design available in red and blue color options. Gold-finished accents extend across the exterior frame, hinge mechanism, rear camera housing, and camera lens rings, giving the device a more premium appearance. The rear panel also carries the signature “Heart to the World” branding.
For added protection, both the rear panel and the external cover display are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3.
Display and Performance
The W27 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy mobile platform, paired with 16GB of RAM.
It features second-generation Dynamic AMOLED displays on both the cover and inner screens:
- Cover Display: 6.5-inch
- Main Folding Display: 8.0-inch
Both displays support adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Samsung also claims a 14.7% improvement in pixel density compared to the previous configuration.
The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging. On the software front, it comes with Samsung Galaxy AI features, including instant search and real-time translation. Security is handled by the Samsung Knox platform.
The retail package includes an exclusive Kevlar magnetic protective case and a 45W power adapter, along with a charging cable and SIM ejector tool.
Camera Capabilities
The rear camera system comprises three sensors:
- Primary Camera: 200MP
- Ultra-Wide Camera: 50MP
- Telephoto Camera: 10MP
For selfies and video calls, the W27 features 10MP front-facing cameras on both the cover display and the inner folding screen.
The camera system supports video recording at up to 8K resolution and includes stabilization features such as Super Steady and horizontal horizon lock.
Satellite Communication
One of the key highlights of the Samsung W27 is its integration with the Tiantong satellite communication network. Users activating the service will receive one year of direct satellite network access, including 300 minutes of satellite voice calls and 100 satellite text messages.
The package also includes eligibility for up to 200 million future Telecom Tokens through carrier incentives.
