    According to a report by GalaxyClub, Samsung filed for the “Galaxy Z Trifold” trademark in South Korea on July 15, 2025. While the name fits within the Galaxy Z lineup, the report noted that Samsung often registers multiple naming options, and the final branding may vary depending on the market.

    In a recent interview, TM Roh, Head of Samsung’s Mobile Division, confirmed that the tri-fold phone is set to launch before the end of 2025, though the name is still being finalized as development progresses.

    Past naming candidates reportedly included the Galaxy G Fold, referencing the G-shaped folding mechanism showcased at CES 2022, and Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, which would position the device as a high-end addition to the Fold series.

    Internally known as Q7M, the tri-fold phone carries the model number SM-F968N. Sources suggest the device is still under active development and will likely be released in limited quantities at a premium price, reflecting its experimental nature and technical complexity.

    While Samsung has officially committed to a 2025 launch, noted leaker Ice Universe has pinpointed a more specific window, suggesting an October 2025 release. Meanwhile, rival HUAWEI—which already launched its first tri-fold model—is expected to unveil its second-generation tri-fold in September 2025.

    As the launch window approaches, more information is expected to surface about Samsung’s ambitious foldable.
