Sony PlayStation 5 2023 launched Globally with New smaller design, 1TB storage, Detachable Blu-ray Disc Drive

Sony has unveiled a compact version of the PS5, accompanied by an optional Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive attachment, and it boasts a 1TB SSD for increased internal storage capacity. Sony has announced that the new PS5 has undergone a reduction in size by over 30%, resulting in an 18% reduction in weight for the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a 24% reduction for the PS5 Digital Edition when compared to their predecessors.

The PS5 features four distinct cover panels, with a glossy top section and a matte bottom. For those opting for the PS5 Digital Edition, the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 will be available for separate purchase, giving you the option to add it later.

The new PS5 model will include a horizontal stand, and a new Vertical Stand compatible with all PS5 models will also be available for separate purchase.

Sony has revealed its intentions to launch a range of PS5 Console Cover colors for the new model. This lineup will encompass an entirely matte Black option, along with the Deep Earth Collection, offering colors such as Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver, with availability slated to commence in early 2024.
