TECNO CAMON Slim 5G launched with 6.78-inch 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, 6.39mm sleek design, 6000mAh battery

TECNO has launched its latest smartphone in the Slim series, the Tecno CAMON Slim 5G in the Global Market. The handset focuses on an ultra-slim design, artistic finishes, advanced camera capabilities, and a range of built-in AI features.

Display and Hardware

The CAMON Slim 5G features a 6.78-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, and 2,304Hz PWM dimming. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and carries TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light emissions.

TECNO has also equipped the phone with Wet & Oily Hand Touch Recognition 2.0, designed to maintain touchscreen responsiveness when the display is exposed to rain, moisture, or oily fingers. The feature can also help when the device is operated through a waterproof case.

Powering the smartphone is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G processor built on a 4nm process, paired with a Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and offers 128GB and 256GB storage options.

On the software front, the CAMON Slim 5G runs Android 16 with HiOS 16. TECNO promises three major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. The smartphone has also received TÜV SÜD certification for 60 months of system fluidity.

Design and Build

The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G measures just 6.39mm in thickness and adopts a contoured design inspired by the company’s CAMON 50 series. Despite its slim profile, the smartphone packs a 6,500mAh battery.

The rear panel is offered in five distinctive finishes:

• Burgundy Red: Features a fiberglass composite back with a matte texture and a blend of red and brown tones.
• Neo Mondrian: Uses a white photochromic panel that reveals geometric blocks of color when exposed to ultraviolet light.
• Matisse Black: Combines a black fiberglass back with fluorescent green accents.
• Van Gogh Blue: Features a gradient finish inspired by the swirling patterns of The Starry Night.
• Rebel Pink: Uses vivid pink accents against a matte black base.

The smartphone also offers extensive durability protection with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. These certifications provide protection against dust, high-pressure water, and underwater use. The device also carries MIL-STD-810 certification for improved resistance against drops and shocks.

Camera System

The primary camera setup is built around a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size. A closed-loop ball motor is used for focusing, while the camera system combines Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and AI Shutter technology for improved stability and motion capture.

Key camera features include:

• Super-Zoom FlashSnap: Enables motion photography at up to 2x telephoto magnification, with shutter speeds reaching up to 1/11,236 of a second.
• Multi-Focal Portrait: Offers three portrait focal lengths of 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm.
• Universal Tone: Uses an AI engine and multi-skin-tone color cards to improve skin-tone accuracy under different lighting conditions.

The rear camera setup is complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, while a 32MP sensor is provided on the front for selfies and video calls.

Mag Badge Accessory

Alongside the smartphone, TECNO has introduced the Mag Badge, a magnetic accessory featuring a built-in battery and a 1.73-inch AMOLED display.

The accessory connects to the smartphone over Bluetooth and can function as a remote camera shutter from up to 10 meters away. It can also act as a live selfie preview screen or an external digital badge.

AI Features

The CAMON Slim 5G includes several AI-powered tools designed for photography, productivity, and everyday tasks.

• AI Snap Poster: Automatically removes backgrounds from product images and creates promotional graphics for small businesses.
• AI Pet Together: Combines separate images of users and their pets into a single composition.
• AI LightMaster 2.0: Helps remove lens flare, harsh shadows, and reflections from windows during image processing.
• AI Recording Notes: Transcribes recorded audio and synchronizes captured whiteboard content with timestamps.
• AI Class Schedule: Converts written class timetables into a dedicated home-screen widget.
• AI Healthy Eating: Scans meals and provides estimated nutritional information and calorie counts.

Availability

The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G will be rolled out across selected regions, with local markets expected to announce pricing, launch dates, and carrier configurations separately.
