VAIO launches a Windows 10 powered smartphone, which no-one will buy
Its been an year since the Sony off-shoot VAIO unveiled its first smartphone. I actually needed to dig for the name of the first smartphone made by the company. Even after all that, the company is making a Windows 10 smartphone of all things.
The Vaio Phone Biz will run Windows 10 Mobile out of the box and also support Continuum. It runs on Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor with 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage which can be expanded with a microSD card slot.
There's a 13MP rear and 5MP front-camera alongwith a 2800 mAh battery to keep it ticking. The mid-range smartphone will launch in Japan next month and at present there is no word of a global release. Moreover, even with those mid-range specs it carries a hefty $430 price tag.
With even Microsoft seeming to give up on Windows 10 for Mobile, this just doesn't make any sense for VAIO even if the smartphone is just catered to enterprise users.
