Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro confirmed Battery Specs with Design, and Periscope Telephoto Camera Samples
Xiaomi has confirmed the battery specifications and shared camera samples for the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Pro, after confirming the launch of Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC on October 29th in China. The device will include a 5x periscope telephoto camera with 10x lossless zoom and a ceramic camera housing.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro will come with a substantial 6100mAh battery, a significant increase over the 4880mAh battery in the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 will feature a 5400mAh battery—an increase of 790mAh from its predecessor—while maintaining similar battery volume.
With an energy density of 850Wh/L, the highest yet from Xiaomi, the standard model’s battery life is improved by 23%, and the Pro model’s by 38%, according to the company. Xiaomi also shared camera samples from the 15 Pro, which will include an upgraded Leica optical high-speed lens system and Xiaomi’s advanced AISP 2.0 computational photography platform for enhanced imaging.
Xiaomi recently unveiled the official design of the Xiaomi 15 series. The Xiaomi Mi 15 retains its 6.36″ flat AMOLED display with ultra-narrow 1.38mm bezels on all sides. It features a quad-curved middle frame crafted from aviation-grade aluminum, a Crater lens design, and uses an integrated cold carving process. With a nearly 50:50 weight balance, the device promises optimal in-hand feel, according to Xiaomi.
The images show a triple rear camera setup with apertures ranging from f/1.62 to f/2.2 and focal lengths of 14mm to 60mm, including a 2.6x telephoto lens.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro will have a quad-curved display protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0, a ceramic lens DECO, and a wrap-around middle frame. At 8.35mm thick and weighing 213g, the 15 Pro is thinner and 10g lighter than the Xiaomi 14 Pro, maintaining a balanced 50:50 weight distribution for a comfortable feel.
The Pro model includes a square ceramic DECO with apertures ranging from f/1.44 to f/2.5, focal lengths from 14mm to 120mm, and a 5x periscope telephoto camera with a Leica Summilux lens. However, unlike its predecessor, it does not feature a variable aperture, with a maximum aperture of f/2.5. Both models are expected to utilize Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
