Xiaomi SU7 and SU7 Max launched with up to 800KM range, up to 265Kmph top speed, 7 Airbags
Xiaomi has introduced its inaugural electric car series, the SU7 series, at an event in China. The lineup comprises the SU7 and SU7 Max models, both featuring Xiaomi HyperEngine V6/V6s motors with a 21000 rpm capacity. The company has also disclosed that the HyperEngine V8s, currently in mass production, boasts an increased rpm of 27200 and is set to be available by 2025. Additionally, Xiaomi is actively developing a motor with a 35000rpm capability, incorporating a carbon-sleeved rotor for future releases.
These vehicles operate on Xiaomi HyperOS, offering an interior selection in Galaxy Gray, Twilight Red, and Obsidian Black. The cars feature a 16.1-inch expansive touch screen, a 56-inch Head-Up Display (HUD), and a 7.1-inch flip instrument screen. Notably, the system includes intelligent integration, and the central control screen supports keyboard expansion. Further enhancing the driving experience, the cars are furnished with sports-style seats and a traditional D-shaped steering wheel.
The design team behind Xiaomi's automobile includes professionals from renowned global car manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, meticulously crafting the body proportions to achieve a sleek, sports car-inspired aesthetic.
The Xiaomi SU7 showcases distinctive features like water drop-shaped headlights, halo-shaped tail lights measuring 2.48m, a 175° ripple curved surface, G4 continuous curvature defining the entire car outline, semi-hidden door handles, pebbled frameless water drop rearview mirrors, and a pebble-shaped lidar.
With 8 sets of air ducts and 17 air outlets strategically placed, the electric rear wing generates 130 kilograms of downforce at top speed, resulting in the world's lowest drag coefficient for a car at Cd 0.195.
Inside the SU7, the design centers around a "people-centered cockpit," offering a wrap-around design with a total vehicle glass area of 5.35m². The industry-leading canopy, front windshield, and sun protection, coupled with dynamic ambient lighting, contribute to an immersive experience. The vehicle boasts an impressive audio system with 25 speakers, a 7.1.4-channel setup, Dolby Atmos, and even speakers integrated into the headrests.
Regarding space, the front row vertical space in the Xiaomi SU7 reaches 1012mm, accommodating individuals up to 1.88 meters tall comfortably. The rear space surpasses that of the Tesla Model S and BMW 5 Series, while the front luggage space stands at 105 liters (the largest in the domestic market), and the trunk offers a spacious 517 liters.
The SUV7 achieves a 0 to 100kmph acceleration in 5.28 seconds, featuring a 73.6-degree iron lithium battery, a battery life of 668km, and a 400V platform. It is equipped with a single Orin chip and is powered by the Qualcomm 8295 processor.
As for the Xiaomi SU7 Max, it incorporates a 101Kwh CATL Integrated Battery Technology that seamlessly integrates the battery pack into the vehicle structure, enhancing overall strength and maximizing passenger cabin space. The SU7 Max boasts an impressive range of up to 800km and supports super-fast charging, achieving 220km in 5 minutes and 510km in 15 minutes. With a 0 to 100kmph acceleration time of 2.78 seconds, it features a 101-degree ternary lithium Kirin battery, dual Orin chips, lidar, Qualcomm 8295, air suspension + CDC, electric tail wing, 56-inch HUD, 25-speaker sound system, and electric suction doors.
In terms of safety, the Xiaomi SU7 utilizes an armored steel-aluminum hybrid body with a strength of 2000MPa, boasting the highest vehicle torsional stiffness of 51000 N·m/deg among mass-produced cars, and is equipped with 7 airbags.
The Xiaomi SU7 series is available in Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green. Although the pricing and sale date remain undisclosed, the company has assured that the series will launch in China in 2024.
