Google announces Android Device Manager to track your lost phone, remotely wipe it.

Google Android Device Manager Find My Android

Google today announced Android Device Manager, a service similar to Find My iPhone, which will allow Android users to sign in to their Google account online and track the whereabouts of your phone in real-time.

You would also be able make your phone ring at its loudest volume, say if you forgot it somewhere in the house or it just hid itself between your couch cushions. But that's not all, if there is no way of recovering your phone then you cal also quickly and securely erase all data on your device.

The service will be rolled out later this month according to Google, but only devices running Android 2.2 and above will be supported. There will also be a companion App that will allow easier management of multiple devices.
