    HONOR has officially confirmed the global launch of its Magic V5 foldable smartphone on August 28th at an event in London, following its debut in China last month.

    Ahead of the launch, the company highlighted that HONOR has become the fastest-growing book-style foldable brand in Europe in 2024, with its market share surging from 11% to 34%, according to Counterpoint Research. The same report predicts that foldables will account for nearly 10% of premium smartphone sales in Europe by 2028.

    For the global market, the Magic V5 will be available in Ivory White, Dawn Gold, and Black finishes, with support for the Magic Pen. The device sports an ultra-slim 8.8mm design and weighs just 217 grams, making it the lightest foldable in its category.

    The global variant will be offered in a single model, equipped with a 5820mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. It also features IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings, a 64MP 3x periscope telephoto camera, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.

    The phone features a 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner display (2352×2172) and a 6.43-inch external OLED screen (2376×1060). Both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, and up to 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
