HUAWEI Mate XT Ultimate Design to be launched globally on Feb 18 with 10.2-inch Unfold 3K OLED screen, 50MP Camera

HUAWEI launched the Mate XT Ultimate Design, the first production tri-fold smartphone, in China last September. Now, the company has confirmed its Global launch at an event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on February 18.

HUAWEI continues to push the boundaries of foldable phone technology, hinting at an innovation that could redefine conventional foldable designs. The global page teases an "Innovative Product Launch," urging users to stay tuned for February 18, 2025.

The Mate XT Ultimate Design features a 6.4-inch FHD+ display when folded, expands to a 7.9-inch 2K screen when partially unfolded, and transforms into a 10.2-inch 3K tablet when fully opened. Remarkably, it measures just 3.6mm in thickness when fully extended.

The display is crafted from multi-directional bending flexible materials, offering 25% improved durability over traditional foldables. Its inner fold resists compression, while the outer fold resists tension, enhancing longevity. The phone incorporates a composite ultra-tough laminated structure, utilizing non-Newtonian fluid and the industry's largest UTG glass for double impact resistance and superior protection.

For imaging, the device boasts HUAWEI XMAGE technology, featuring a 50MP (1/1.56”) main camera with a variable aperture (f/1.4–f/4.0), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP 5.5x periscope telephoto camera. Additionally, there’s an 8MP internal camera for selfies.

Powering the phone is a 5,600mAh ultra-thin silicon-carbon battery with an industry-leading 1.9mm thickness. It supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
