Ray-Ban Gen 2, Ray-Ban Display with Neural Band, and Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses launched at Meta Connect 2025 Event
Meta launched three new AI-powered glasses, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), Meta Ray-Ban Display, and Oakley Meta Vanguard, featuring upgraded cameras, displays, extended battery life, and innovative AI + EMG control technology at the Connect 2025 event.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) -
Developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses build on the first version with significant enhancements:
- Video Capture: Records in 3K Ultra HD with ultrawide HDR at up to 60fps, offering more than double the pixel count of the previous model. Hands-free modes like hyperlapse and slow motion will be added later this fall.
- Battery Life: Provides up to 8 hours of use, nearly twice that of Gen 1. Fast charging delivers 50% in 20 minutes, and the charging case extends usage with an extra 48 hours of power.
- Conversation Focus: A new feature that isolates and amplifies a conversation partner’s voice in noisy settings, arriving via a software update.
- Live Translation: Now includes German and Portuguese, with six languages available for offline two-way translation after downloading language packs.
- Frame Styles: Offered in Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner designs, plus three limited seasonal colors, giving users multiple style and color combinations.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display debuts a new category of AI glasses, combining an in-lens display with EMG-powered wrist control through the Meta Neural Band.
- Display Functions: Let users discreetly view messages, photos, translations, and access Meta AI, while keeping the interface unobtrusive.
- Meta Neural Band: A wristband that interprets subtle muscle signals into commands for hands-free interaction. Designed with accessibility in mind, it supports a wide range of users, including those with limited mobility.
- Battery & Build: The glasses offer 6 hours of mixed-use battery life, extended to 30 hours with the charging case. The Neural Band runs for 18 hours, is IPX7 water-resistant, and is built with durable Vectran material.
- AI Features: Supports step-by-step guidance, messaging, video calling, Zoom and preview controls, pedestrian navigation, live captions, real-time translation, and music control via Neural Band gestures.
- Colors & Sizes: The glasses are available in Black and Sand, while the Neural Band comes in three size options.

Pricing and Availability -
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) - Priced from $379 (approx. Rs. 33,380), already available in select countries. Launches in Mexico and India are planned for later this fall. Additional rollouts include Switzerland and the Netherlands, with Brazil to follow soon.
Meta Ray-Ban Display - Starts at $799 (approx. Rs. 70,375), releasing September 30 at select U.S. retailers such as Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and Ray-Ban stores. Availability in Canada, France, Italy, and the UK is planned for early 2026.
Oakley Meta Vanguard - Open for pre-order at $499 (approx. Rs. 43,950), with the official launch on October 21. It will be available across the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Mexico, India, Brazil, and the UAE will get it later this year.
