Nubia Air launched with 6.78-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, 5.9mm sleek design, IP68, IP69, IP69K ratings
ZTE launched its latest ultra-thin and lightweight smartphone in a new “Air-style” category, the Nubia Air, at IFA 2025. The device measures just 5.9mm thick yet features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery, and AI-powered optimizations, all packed into a body that weighs only 172 grams.
Despite its slim profile, the nubia Air is designed for longevity. Its 5,000mAh battery supports over 1,000 charge cycles and, combined with nubia’s AI-driven power-saving system, promises more than three years of reliable daily use, according to the company.
The phone also carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, offering top-tier protection against dust and water. It can withstand submersion in 1.5m of water for 30 minutes and endure high-pressure water jets at 80°C. Durability is further enhanced by an aluminum alloy frame, tested through 6,000 continuous drop trials, 600 rolling drops, and 5 rounds of free-fall tests.
Under the hood, the nubia Air runs on a UNISOC octa-core 5G processor supported by a dedicated AI Performance Engine. Features like AI Scheduling (for CPU optimization) and App Freeze (which suspends rarely used apps) help extend battery life by 20% while reducing power consumption by 25%.
