OnePlus 16 to be launched on October 12 with 185FPS Gaming, Windspeed Game Kernel and E-Sports Triple Chip Setup
OnePlus has confirmed the launch date of its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 16, at the OnePlus Game Conference held on September 28. The company has scheduled the official launch for October 12.
During the event, OnePlus focused on the phone’s gaming-oriented performance architecture, highlighting its hardware capabilities and in-house silicon designed to support sustained gaming at frame rates of up to 185 frames per second (FPS).
Silicon Architecture and Windspeed Game Kernel
The OnePlus 16 is expected to be one of the first smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. OnePlus also revealed a newly redesigned “Windspeed Game Kernel,” which is integrated directly into the chip’s underlying firmware layer.
The new framework brings two key graphics technologies:
- Native 185FPS Full-Frame Support: Enables compatible mainstream games to run natively at up to 185FPS, with frame delivery designed to maintain zero latency across different graphics settings.
- DLSS4 Generation-Style Super Frame Technology: Uses frame interpolation to raise supported games without native high-refresh-rate modes to as much as 185FPS, while also targeting more consistent frame rates and lower power consumption during extended gaming sessions.
Dedicated “E-Sports Triple Chip” Configuration
The OnePlus 16 also features a dedicated co-processor setup developed for gaming-related networking, display processing, and touch response.

- Dark Zone: Breakout (Arena Breakout)
- Counter-Strike Online: Future Tactics
- CrossFire Mobile
- Firefly Assault (Lost Light)
- Naruto Mobile
In addition, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will serve as the official tournament smartphone for the upcoming season of the Peacekeeper Elite Professional League (PEL).
OnePlus is expected to announce the phone’s pricing, regional availability, and full retail configurations during the official launch event on October 12.
