POCO X8s launched Globally with 6.35-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, IP68 ratings, 6330mAh battery

POCO has launched its latest compact mid-to-high-end smartphone, the POCO X8s for the Global Market, following the launch of the POCO X8 last month. Unlike the industry's growing preference for larger displays, the X8s features a compact 6.35-inch screen while combining upgraded battery technology, a Qualcomm processor, and premium hardware specifications.

Design and Display

The POCO X8s features a 6.35-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2656 × 1220 pixels and an adaptive LTPO refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The display is protected by POCO Shield Glass and delivers a multi-scenario peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Its front design incorporates symmetrical 1.18mm bezels, maximizing the screen-to-body ratio.

Measuring 151.1 × 71.8 × 8.06mm and weighing 187 grams, the smartphone features a micro-curved aluminum frame. It also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. For secure authentication, the device is equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated into the display.

Performance and Internals

The POCO X8s is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform, manufactured using a 4nm process. Its octa-core CPU operates at clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz, delivering performance for everyday tasks and demanding applications.

To manage heat during intensive workloads, POCO has integrated its 3D IceLoop cooling system, which offers a 4,497mm² heat dissipation area to help maintain consistent performance.

The smartphone is available in two memory and storage configurations:

• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage
• 12GB RAM + 512GB storage

It runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared blaster, and dual-SIM support with eSIM functionality.

Camera System

The POCO X8s features a triple rear camera system designed for versatile photography across different shooting scenarios.

• Primary camera: 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor with a 1/1.55-inch sensor size, f/1.77 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and 2.0μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel technology.
• Telephoto camera: 50MP sensor with a 57mm equivalent focal length and an f/2.2 aperture.
• Ultra-wide camera: 8MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

On the front, the smartphone houses a selfie camera within a centrally positioned punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls.

Battery and Charging

Despite its compact form factor, the POCO X8s packs a large 6,330mAh battery. The battery uses high-energy-density silicon-carbon technology with a silicon content of 16%, allowing the device to accommodate a higher capacity without significantly increasing its dimensions.

For charging, the smartphone supports 100W HyperCharge wired charging and is compatible with the Programmable Power Supply (PPS) standard. It also offers up to 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing users to power compatible accessories and other devices directly from the phone.
