Vivo Y600 launched with 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, IP69 ratings, 10000mAh battery

Vivo has launched its latest Y-series smartphone, the vivo Y600, in China. The company introduced the device in India earlier this month as the vivo S2 FE. Focused on extended battery life and enhanced durability, the smartphone offers a high-capacity battery, reinforced protection against environmental hazards, and specialized software features for outdoor professionals, students, and senior users.

Battery Capacity and Environmental Durability

The vivo Y600's primary highlight is its massive 10,000mAh battery, which is advertised with a seven-year durability rating and ultra-low-temperature operating capabilities. The battery is designed to operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -35°C to 50°C, making it suitable for challenging climates, outdoor activities, and demanding working conditions.

The smartphone also features reinforced protection designed to meet seven military-standard environmental benchmarks. Its drop-resistance testing covers 12 scenarios, including conventional drops from 1 meter, constant-speed drop tests, and simulated 1.2-meter drops at speeds of 25km/h.

For water and liquid protection, vivo has incorporated a three-layer waterproof dam structure with the following capabilities:

• Up to 20 hours of continuous water immersion at an IP68-level rating.
• Extended IP69 protection against high-temperature, high-pressure water jets.
• Resistance to rainfall and showers for up to 24 hours.
• Protection against splashes from 30 types of liquids, including soapy water.

The vivo Y600 is available in three color options: Diamond Gold, Titanium Gold, and Starry Blue.

For improved connectivity, the device incorporates Space-Time Signal Enhancement 3.0 technology, supported by a 360-degree wall-penetrating antenna design. According to vivo, this system can improve signal performance by up to 90%. Software-based network selection and weak-signal optimization further enhance connectivity in challenging environments.

The mode also provides enhanced hands-free speaker output, automatic high-brightness screen adjustment, rain-resistant touch filtering, and configurable screen-lock timeouts of up to 20 minutes. Facial recognition has been optimized to support unlocking while wearing certain half-helmets or three-quarter helmets with raised or transparent visors.

Family and Education Features

The smartphone includes an AI Home Tutor feature powered by the Blue Heart Little V model. It supports homework assistance through on-screen circling, intelligent question-and-answer functionality, and poetry analysis.

Parental control features include screen-time management and real-time location sharing, helping families monitor device usage and stay connected.

Senior Accessibility

For older users, the vivo Y600 introduces Easy Mode 2.0, which simplifies home screen navigation and access to essential functions.

Security features include AI-powered anti-fraud detection designed to identify common scam scripts and deliver real-time alerts. The system also allows authorized family members to remotely end suspicious calls, providing an additional layer of protection against potential scams.
