Realme Neo8 could feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 5/Dimensity 9500e SoC, Eye-Friendly Display, 8,000mAh+ Battery

Realme is reportedly testing its next Neo series smartphone for the Chinese market, potentially powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 9500e (a variant of the Dimensity 9400+) or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This chipset choice differs from the 8 Elite series but is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8s series, based on earlier leaks.

In a shift from its predecessor’s 1.5K 120Hz 8T LTPO display, the upcoming model may adopt a “more eye-friendly” 1.5K LTPS panel, possibly with improved PWM dimming to enhance visual comfort.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, one of the standout upgrades will be the integration of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, offering faster and more dependable unlocking. The most surprising rumor so far suggests a massive battery boost — exceeding 8,000mAh — a significant increase from the Neo7’s 7,000mAh capacity, potentially making the Neo8 an endurance champion.

Following the Neo7’s December 2024 launch, the Neo8 is expected to debut around the same time this year, possibly by late November 2025. The phone is likely to retain IP68 and IP69 ratings, while details on its camera setup and exact battery capacity are expected in the coming weeks.
