REDMI K90 Pro Max launched with 6.9-inch 2K 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, 2.1ch speakers, Sound by BOSE, 7560mAh battery

Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone in the K90 series, the REDMI K90 Pro in China, as promised. The device features a 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED flat display with a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, full-brightness DC dimming, 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and 12-bit color depth offering 68.7 billion colors.

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It also includes an independent D2 graphics chip with a new GEX module that leverages AI model pre-training to enhance lighting and shadow details, delivering PC-level image quality. The device supports dynamic frame interpolation, which intelligently calculates and compensates for motion to produce smoother, more fluid visuals.

For thermal management, the REDMI K90 Pro is equipped with Xiaomi’s largest 6700mm² 3D Ice-Sealed Heatsink, featuring an innovative dual-stage boss design that improves heat dissipation and keeps core temperatures low. The combination of high-efficiency graphite layers and thermal gel ensures sustained performance during extended gaming sessions without overheating.

In terms of audio, the REDMI K90 Pro features 1115F ultra-linear symmetrical dual speakers paired with an independent oversized woofer, creating a 2.1 stereo sound field. This setup delivers richer bass, enhanced clarity, and a broader soundstage, providing an immersive, high-fidelity audio experience.

The camera setup includes a 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor (1/1.31″) with OIS, Xiaomi AISP 2.0, and 13.5EV cinematic dynamic range, the same as the one found in the Xiaomi 17. It also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto lens that supports 30cm macro shots — a first for the REDMI series. The device is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

The phone features a glass back and metal frame, while the Blue variant stands out with a back cover inspired by blue denim, crafted using a two-tone warp and weft process and third-generation nano-leather technology. This material offers resistance to UV light and yellowing, along with enhanced durability, allowing surface stains to be easily wiped clean.

Xiaomi has also introduced a special REDMI K90 Pro Max ‘Automobili Lamborghini SQUADRA CORSE’ Champion Edition, featuring a custom design and exclusive gift box. This limited edition is available only in the 16GB + 1TB configuration.

Powering the device is a 7560mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 100W fast charging and 100W PPS charging. Notably, it also supports 50W wireless charging, marking a first for the REDMI series. The phone incorporates the Xiaomi Surge P3 smart fast charging chip and G2 battery management chip, which work together to enhance charging efficiency and battery performance.
