Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Launches in India at Rs. 28,999 with 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC
Samsung has officially launched its latest mid-range smartphone in the Galaxy A series lineup, the Galaxy A27 5G in India, following its announcement last week. Succeeding the Galaxy A26 5G, the smartphone introduces improvements in display design, performance, artificial intelligence capabilities, and long-term software support.
Design and Display
The Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother scrolling, animations, and an enhanced viewing experience. Samsung has also adopted an updated Infinity-O display design, replacing the traditional notch with a punch-hole cutout for the front camera.
The slimmer bezels provide a more immersive screen experience, while the handset maintains a sleek 7.8mm profile for comfortable everyday use.
Performance and Camera
Powering the Galaxy A27 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, which Samsung says delivers improved graphics performance for gaming and multimedia while enhancing overall efficiency through faster memory support and optimized power management.
On the camera front, the smartphone features an upgraded 12MP front-facing camera designed to capture improved dynamic range and more accurate colors across different lighting conditions.
Galaxy AI Features
Samsung has expanded its "Awesome Intelligence" suite to the Galaxy A27 5G, bringing several AI-powered features previously available on premium Galaxy smartphones.
- Circle to Search with Google: Supports recognition of multiple objects within a single image and introduces a virtual try-on feature for clothing.
- Object Eraser: Removes unwanted objects from photos with improved editing precision.
- Voice Transcription: The built-in Voice Recorder app can simultaneously transcribe and translate recordings across 22 supported languages.
- Multiple AI Assistants: Users can choose between Google Gemini and Perplexity, and the updated Bixby assistant now supports natural-language commands to navigate phone settings.
Software and Security
Samsung has committed to providing up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades for the Galaxy A27 5G, along with six years of security updates to extend the device's lifespan.
For security, the smartphone is protected by Samsung Knox and Knox Vault, offering hardware-based protection that isolates sensitive information and safeguards user data from potential software threats.
