Samsung may add Full Qi2 Wireless Charging Support to the Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung is reportedly preparing to bring full native Qi2 wireless charging to the Galaxy S26 series, according to a new report from WinFuture. This marks an upgrade from the partial “Qi2 Ready” support found in recent Samsung flagships and is expected to debut alongside the company’s first official Qi2 wireless charger.
25W Magnetic Wireless Charger and compatibility -
Current Samsung phones top out at 15W via Qi2, but the Galaxy S26 lineup may increase that limit. Samsung’s upcoming Magnetic Wireless Charger (model EP-P2900) is rated for 25W and uses a magnetic attachment system to keep devices aligned during charging.
Retail listings show the charger in dark gray, compatible with Galaxy S, Galaxy Z, and Galaxy Buds. Unlike the square EP-P2400, this model is likely round to meet the Qi 2.2 spec, which requires magnetic alignment rings to achieve full 25W speeds.
Charging speeds and possible tiering -
Not all Galaxy S26 models may support the full 25W Qi2 output. The S26 Ultra could get the highest speed, while the S26 and S26+ may top out at around 20W. Wired charging is also expected to follow a tiered structure:
- Galaxy S26 Ultra: up to 60W
- Galaxy S26+: up to 45W
- Galaxy S26: up to 25W
Samsung is also said to be working on Super Fast Charging 3.0 for future devices.
Built-in Qi2 magnets and standard improvements -
The Galaxy S26 series is expected to include built-in Qi2 magnets, replacing the partial magnet-based implementation on earlier models. Samsung’s current Qi2 chargers are capped at 15W, while the Qi 2.2 standard allows for 25W charging only when magnetic alignment is used—further suggesting that internal magnets are coming to the S26 lineup.
Outlook -
Samsung recently announced the Exynos 2600, which is expected to power the Galaxy S26 and S26+. The series is anticipated to launch at Galaxy Unpacked on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco. More details on wired and wireless charging may surface as the event nears, though nothing is confirmed until Samsung makes it official.
