Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 CAD-Based Images Surfaced Online; Expected 8.2-inch inner display, 6.5-inch outer display, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 7 series are anticipated to launch in a few months. Ahead of the official announcement, renowned tipster @OnLeaks has shared the first set of CAD-based renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone.
The renders reveal a familiar flat-frame design. When unfolded, it measures 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm, which makes it taller and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 while being 1.1mm thinner. This slim profile positions it as a strong competitor to the OPPO Find N5, which measures 4.21mm when unfolded, and the HONOR Magic V3, which measures 4.4mm.
When folded, the device reportedly measures just 9mm (9.5mm including the camera bump), making it 3.1mm thinner than the Z Fold 6. In comparison, the OPPO Find N5 is slightly slimmer at 8.93mm, while the HONOR Magic V3 measures 9.3mm.
The Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a larger 8.2-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer display. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC and will incorporate a special aluminum alloy armored side frame instead of the titanium frame found in the S25 Ultra. The outer screen will continue to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Additionally, the device may introduce a slightly refined hinge mechanism, an enhanced cooling system, and Wi-Fi 7 support. While it is expected to retain a 4,400mAh battery, charging speeds are likely to improve to 45W fast wired charging, a significant upgrade from the 25W charging in the Z Fold 6. The phone will reportedly come with a redesigned S Pen featuring a thicker tip for improved writing and drawing experience on the foldable screen.
In terms of cameras, the Z Fold 7 is rumoured to sport a 200MP main sensor, matching the Galaxy S25 Ultra,. It is also expected to retain the 12MP ultrawide camera, 10MP telephoto camera, 10MP outer camera, and 4MP under-display camera from its predecessor. Storage configurations are expected to include 12GB RAM with options for 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of internal storage.
More details, including full specifications, are expected to surface in the coming months as the phone is slated for a July launch.
