Vivo X Fold5 launched in India for Rs.1,49,999 with 8.03-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, IPX9+ ratings, 6000mAh battery
Vivo has launched its latest flagship foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold5 in India, as previously announced. It features a large 8.03-inch 2K+ 120Hz LTPO inner display with up to 4,500 nits of local peak brightness. The outer screen is a 6.53-inch FHD+ 120Hz LTPO panel, also capable of reaching 4,500 nits brightness.
It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, similar to the X Fold3 Pro, and includes a 20,762mm² VC with a graphite cooling system for efficient heat dissipation. A standout feature is its innovative hinge antenna, placed at the hinge to maximize internal space and maintain reliable network performance in both folded and unfolded states.
The Vivo X Fold5 comes with IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance, IP5X for dust protection, and can withstand temperatures as low as –20°C. The carbon fiber hinge has been tested to endure 600,000 folds. When folded, the phone measures 9.2mm thick, and just 4.3mm when unfolded, with a lightweight build of 217g
In terms of photography, the phone sports a 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor (1/1.56", f/1.57, OIS), a 50MP IMX882 3x telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It also features dual 20MP front-facing cameras. A Shortcut Button enables quick access to apps and features for enhanced productivity.
The vivo X Fold5 is also the first device to feature a 6000mAh Blue Volt battery, incorporating the industry’s first fourth-generation silicon negative electrode technology. It delivers an energy density of up to 866Wh/L—13% higher at room temperature and 20% more efficient in low temperatures than its predecessor. It also debuts second-gen semi-solid-state battery tech, allowing normal operation even at –30°C.
