Xiaomi 17 launched with 6.3-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, Triple 50MP cameras, 7000mAh battery
Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone in the 17 series, the Xiaomi 17, at an event in China. The device comes with a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED flat M10 LTPO display that supports a 1–120Hz refresh rate and features ultra-narrow 1.18mm uniform bezels. It uses a newly developed domestic red light-emitting material, achieving industry-leading luminous efficiency with peak brightness reaching up to 3500 nits. For protection, it is equipped with Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass, which the company claims is ten times more resistant to drops.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It incorporates a three-dimensional ring-shaped cooling system that offers three times the efficiency of traditional vapor chambers, ensuring stable performance and energy efficiency even during demanding gaming sessions or high-temperature use.
The camera setup includes a 50MP Light Fusion 950 primary sensor with a 1/1.31-inch size and f/1.67 aperture, along with a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP 2.6x telephoto lens, all equipped with Leica Summilux optics and supported by the Xiaomi AISP 2.0 computational photography platform. The front camera has also been upgraded to 50MP from the previous 32MP, promising sharper selfies and video calls.
Keeping everything running is a massive 7000mAh battery with a silicon content of up to 16%, offering higher energy density, strong endurance in low temperatures, and a lifespan of up to five years. Charging is handled by 100W Xiaomi Surge wired charging and 50W Xiaomi Surge wireless charging, providing both speed and convenience.
