Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 confirmed for Xiaomi 17, OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, HONOR Magic8, realme GT 8 Pro, and more
Qualcomm unveiled its flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, delivering 20% CPU performance gains, 23% GPU improvements, 16% overall power efficiency enhancements, and a 37% faster NPU. The company also confirmed that multiple OEMs, including HONOR, iQOO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, POCO, realme, REDMI, RedMagic, ROG, Samsung, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE, plan to adopt the chipset in upcoming devices.
Xiaomi 17 Series -
The new Xiaomi 17 series, set to launch in China later today, will be the first device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Xiaomi Group Partner and President Lu Weibing highlighted that each generation of Xiaomi’s digital series smartphones leverages the most advanced Snapdragon chipsets. He emphasized that Xiaomi is working closely with Qualcomm to seamlessly integrate hardware and software, co-creating experiences that bring innovative technology to everyday life.
He added that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 represents a significant upgrade with impressive capabilities, noting that Xiaomi achieved “true same-day delivery” by announcing the processor in the morning and launching the phone later the same evening.
POCO -
POCO has confirmed that its next-generation flagship smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This device is expected to be the POCO F8 Ultra, likely a variant of the REDMI K90 Pro, which is anticipated to launch in China this October.
HONOR Magic8 Series and MagicPad 3 Pro -
HONOR announced that its upcoming Magic8 series smartphones and MagicPad 3 Pro tablets will be the first devices from the company to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, marketed under the tagline “one door, two supremes”. These devices are also scheduled for launch in China in October.
Li Kun, HONOR’s flagship smartphone product manager, shared a preview of the Magic8 in a celadon glaze color, inspired by Song Dynasty Ru porcelain. The finish features a subtle Ru kiln crackle glaze and a distinctive cicada wing pattern, blending cultural heritage with modern design. The phone also includes a right-angled bezel design, highlighting its elegant craftsmanship alongside its powerful hardware.
OnePlus 15 -
OnePlus has confirmed that its flagship OnePlus 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and will come with the all-new “Windspeed Gaming Core.” The company emphasized that the latest flagship chip serves as a foundation, injecting a completely new core into the device’s performance architecture.
The OnePlus 15 is designed to deliver ultra-class performance, enabling 165fps ultra-high frame rate gaming. OnePlus also hinted at another upcoming device featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, likely the OnePlus Ace 6 series.
iQOO 15 and vivo -
The upcoming iQOO 15, launching next month, will also feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The device integrates deeply with Qualcomm to create the Monster Super-Core Engine, optimized for extreme gaming performance, offering smoother, faster, and more stable operation.
Vivo confirmed that its next flagship, expected to be the X300 Ultra launching next year, will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Realme GT8 Pro -
The realme GT8 Pro, set to debut in China this October, will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The device is also slated for global release, including India, and promises elite performance with an AnTuTu score exceeding 4 million.
Nubia and RedMagic -
Both the nubia Z80 Ultra and the RedMagic 11 Pro series will adopt the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The RedMagic 11 Pro series is expected to launch in October.
