Teaser suggests launch of Xiaomi Redmi 3 with metal body on January 12th
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 3 on January 12th, atleast that's what the latest teasers from the company suggest. The new metal body smartphone had surfaced last month and is expected to come with improved hardware and a larger display.
Which brings us to the specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 3. It is expected to come with a 5-inch HD IPS display running on a 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage and MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be a dual-SIM 4G LTE capable device with either an 8MP or 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-camera. According to some leaked benchmarks, the Redmi 3 may have a large 4000 mAh battery and given that the back-cover this time will be non-removable, may soften the blow a bit.
Connectivity options are standard with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and FM Radio support. There hasn't been any mention of fast charging as yet. If we go by recent Xiaomi launched, the Redmi 3 too will probably come in three color offerings including Grey, Silver and Champagne. We will be keeping a lookout on the new Xiaomi device being launched, stay tuned for updates.
