Google Chrome for Android and iOS gets data compression, saves up to 50% of your data plan
Google Chrome for Android and iOS now has data compression and bandwidth management to crunch those last few MB's of your data plan. According to Google, the updated app can save reduce data consumption by as much as 50%. Once the update becomes available just download it, head to Settings-> Bandwidth management -> Reduce data usage and just turn it on.
You can also track the bandwidth saved each month. The new update also brings option to create shortcuts on the Android homescreen for your favorite webpages from right within the tab you are in. Google also announced that Chrome for iPhone and iPad will be getting the translate feature baked in soon, which is already available on Android.
