HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i launched with 11mm Four-magnet driver, 360° spatial audio, intelligent ANC 4.0
HUAWEI has launched its latest TWS earbuds, the FreeBuds 7i in China, alongside the Mate XTs tri-fold phone and MatePad Mini. The earbuds are designed to deliver an ergonomic fit, advanced noise cancellation, spatial audio, and long-lasting battery life.
The charging case features a spherical, smooth design that fits comfortably in the hand, while the earbuds themselves prioritize stability and comfort with a streamlined shape. To ensure a secure fit and better noise isolation, HUAWEI includes four ear tip sizes (XS, S, M, L).
For sound, the FreeBuds 7i uses an 11mm four-magnet driver with support for LDAC, wired audio, and Bluetooth 5.4. With AudioVivid head-tracking technology, users get 360° spatial sound that works seamlessly with HUAWEI Music and other popular streaming platforms.
Noise Cancellation & Call Quality -
The Noise Cancellation 4.0 system combines an 8mm² microphone, a three-microphone array, and AI algorithms to deliver under 0.5-second response time, 28 dB noise reduction, and 50% lower power consumption. Adaptive noise modes include:
- Subway: Reduces carriage and crowd noise
- Dormitory: Enables private listening
- Leisure: Enhances immersive audio
For calls, bone conduction technology and AI noise suppression (up to 90 dB) improve voice clarity, with added wind resistance for outdoor use.
Smart Features -
- Voice commands via the Xiao Yi assistant for calls, music, and alarms
- Smart notifications for keys, parcels, payments, and transport updates
- Head gestures: nod to answer, shake to reject
- Touch controls: long press (ANC modes), swipe (volume), double tap (calls/media), triple tap (skip track)
- Real-time sound exposure monitoring with safety alerts
Battery & Durability -
The FreeBuds 7i offers up to 35 hours of playback (ANC off), with a 10-minute quick charge delivering 4 hours of listening. They support multi-device pairing with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and HarmonyOS devices, featuring seamless switching and auto-reconnect. The earbuds are also IP54-rated for dust, sweat, and light rain resistance.
