HUAWEI Mate XTs Ultimate Design tri-fold phone launched with 10.2-inch Unfold 3K OLED screen, stylus support
HUAWEI has launched its latest tri-fold smartphone, the HUAWEI Mate XTs Ultimate Design in China, succeeding last year’s Mate XT, the world’s first mass-produced tri-fold device. It retains much of the predecessor’s design, including a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen when folded, a 7.9-inch 2K display when half-open, and a 10.2-inch 3K tablet-like screen when fully unfolded. It uses COE pixel super light-transmitting technology, cutting power consumption by 13%. Dimensions and weight remain unchanged.
The display also supports the M-Pen 3 stylus, which can control the phone via its side button. Powering the device is HUAWEI’s new Kirin 9020 SoC, which delivers 36% better performance compared to the Kirin 9000 in the Mate XT.
For durability, the device features the new Tiangong hinge system with a dual-track linkage design, making it slimmer and sturdier. The outer hinge strength is up by 23% and the inner hinge by 16%, while the ultra-modular tri-fold screen is 30% more impact-resistant. An eight-layer buffer structure around the hinge area, combined with aerospace-grade steel (2400 MPa strength), improves flexibility and toughness. The screen is as thin as 0.02mm, and the hinge achieves folding accuracy of 0.1°.
On the imaging front, it continues with XMAGE technology, offering a 50MP 1/1.56″ main camera with variable aperture (f/1.4–f/4.0), a 12MP 5.5x periscope telephoto camera, and an 8MP inner camera. The earlier 12MP ultra-wide sensor has been upgraded to a 40MP ultra-wide camera with a 2.5cm macro option, alongside a new 1.5MP multispectral sensor for enhanced color accuracy.
The Mate XTs is powered by a 5600mAh silicon-carbon anode battery, supporting 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
