Micromax has just made its foray into Russia with Canvas Beat and Canvas Social smartphones.
Micromax is expanding, in a big way. Today the company announced that its foray into the Russian market with two new Android smartphones, Canvas Beat and Canvas Social. The Canvas Beat A114R has the same design and specs as the Canvas 2.2 A114 but the chipset has been replaced by the 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 chipset which is also present in the XOLO Q1000 Opus. The Canvas Social A94 is the Canvas Mad A94 without the MAd app installed.
Micromax further wants to launch 14 devices in the Russian market in its initial phase, with 60 operational service centers by the end of the month. For distribution the company has entered into a partnership with VVP Group one of the largest distributors in Russia. Two other partnerships are noteworthy which include value add services (VAS) provider Odnoklassniki - social networking service, and IVI.ru - free music and video service.
Both the phones will come pre-installed with Fiber, Facebook, Twitter and M!Live apps. Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax had this to say:
