Xiaomi 15 Ultra to be launched on February 27 with 200MP Periscope Telephoto camera; Expected 2K quad-curved display, Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC
Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, alongside the SU7 Ultra electric car at an event in China on February 27.
Regarding the launch, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated:
"This time, we will introduce the two most high-end products in Xiaomi’s 15-year history—the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. 'Ultra' represents the ultimate pursuit and pure aspiration. This marks both the culmination of Xiaomi’s high-end exploration over the past five years and the beginning of our journey into the ultra-premium segment."
Last week, Xiaomi’s smartphone head, Lu Weibing, shared details about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera specifications during a live event. The device will feature:
- A 50MP 23mm main camera with a 1-inch sensor and f/1.63 aperture
- A 50MP 14mm ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture
- A 50MP 70mm telephoto floating lens with f/1.8 aperture and 10cm telemacro
- A 200MP 100mm periscope telephoto camera with f/2.6 aperture, supporting 200mm / 400mm zoom and up to 28x lossless zoom
Earlier leaks also revealed a 2K quad-curved display, Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra launch event will begin at 7 PM China time (4:30 PM IST) on February 27, with its global debut set for March 2, ahead of MWC 2025. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will make its first global appearance at MWC.
