Xiaomi 17 Pro Series Teased with Bigger Rear Screen and LEICA Cameras
Xiaomi has officially revealed that the Xiaomi 17 Pro will feature a large rear display, which the company calls the “Magic Back Screen”, after confirming the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max models. This is notably larger than the tiny 1.1-inch panel used on the Mi 11 Ultra back in 2021.
Commenting on the series, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing said that beyond the new secondary screen, the Xiaomi 17 lineup introduces generational upgrades, with the goal of bringing something truly “new” to the smartphone industry.
The promotional image highlights a dual-camera setup on the large camera deco, but there’s also a third sensor positioned below, complete with LEICA branding and an LED flash. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the 17 series will be the first to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun further emphasized that the Xiaomi 17 series represents a cross-generational leap in performance and design, fully benchmarked against the iPhone and positioned to compete directly with it.
More details about the Xiaomi 17 series are expected in the days leading up to its official launch later this month.
