Xiaomi CIVI 5 Pro Confirmed Launch this May with Leica optics; Expected Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, up to 16GB of RAM
Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will launch its next device in its CIVI series, the CIVI 5 Pro in China later this month. Positioned as the successor to last year’s CIVI 4 Pro, the teaser highlights a sleek design with a metal frame and four color options.
According to Lu Weibing, Xiaomi's smartphone head, the CIVI 5 Pro is internally codenamed “Little 15.” He noted that while the phone brings significant improvements in imaging, performance, display, and battery life, it still maintains the series’ signature thin, lightweight, and stylish design.
The device features a triple rear camera system. Leaks suggest it includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens. Markings on the camera module read "LEICA VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:6.3–2.2/15–60 ASPH," indicating an f/1.63 aperture for the main camera and f/2.2 with a 15mm focal length for the ultra-wide lens. The 60mm focal length implies a 2.2x zoom capability, likely with telephoto macro support. A 50MP front camera is also expected.
A recent Geekbench listing (model number 25067PYE3C) reveals the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM, with a 12GB variant also expected.
Previous leaks mention a 1.5K micro-curved display and a 6000mAh battery—an upgrade from the 4700mAh battery in the CIVI 4 Pro. The device has also received 3C certification, confirming 67W fast charging support.
More details, including the official launch date, are expected to be announced soon.
